In 2020, the Australian Building Code Board (ABCB) released an advisory statement for all stakeholders impacted by the WaterMark Certification Scheme, which will introduce a new limit for the allowable level of lead in plumbing products used for drinking water to 0.25%.
This change will be reflected in the 2022 edition of the National Construction Code (NCC) Volume Three – Plumbing Code of Australia, for adoption on 1 September 2025.
