Intertek SAI Global is proud to announce that Nexon Asia Pacific has become the first organisation certified to ISO/IEC 42001:2023 by Intertek SAI Global, demonstrating leadership in the responsible governance and management of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
ISO/IEC 42001:2023 is the world’s first international management system standard specifically designed for Artificial Intelligence. The standard provides organisations with a framework to establish, implement, maintain, and continually improve an AI Management System (AIMS), helping ensure AI technologies are developed and used responsibly, ethically, securely, and transparently.
With AI adoption accelerating across industries, certification to ISO/IEC 42001:2023 provides organisations with confidence that their AI systems are governed with appropriate risk management, accountability, compliance, and oversight mechanisms.
As part of its certification, Nexon has also achieved the right to use Intertek SAI Global’s trusted 5 Ticks StandardsMark™, governed by independent assurance to customers, partners, and stakeholders that its AI governance practices meet internationally recognised standards.
A Milestone for Responsible AI
“We are incredibly proud to be recognised as the first organisation certified to ISO/IEC 42001:2023 by Intertek SAI Global,” said Director Saba Maroun, Chief Customer Services Officer at Nexon Asia Pacific.
“AI presents enormous opportunities for innovation and growth, but it also brings significant responsibility. Achieving this certification reflects our commitment to building trust through strong governance, transparency, security, and ethical AI practices. It demonstrates to our customers and partners that responsible AI is embedded into the way we operate.”
Dr. Anand Shankaran, Vice President, Business Assurance APAC, said the certification marks an important step forward for organisations seeking to implement trustworthy AI systems.
“Organisations worldwide are rapidly integrating AI into their operations, products, and decision-making processes. ISO/IEC 42001:2023 provides a critical framework to help organisations manage AI responsibly while balancing innovation, governance, and risk,” said Shankaran.
“We congratulate Nexon on this significant achievement and their leadership in demonstrating a proactive commitment to trusted and ethical AI practices. Independent certification, combined with the assurance of the 5 Ticks StandardsMark™, helps organisations build confidence with customers, regulators, investors, and stakeholders in an increasingly AI-driven world.”
